(f) COURSE CERTIFICATES:-

It will be necessary at an early date to decide on the type of

certificate which will be awarded to successful pupils.

A reasonably high standard will require to be set from the begin-

ning, as it is hoped that possession of a "Class I" certificate will be

accepted by employers as giving an apprentice entrance to the "part time

day" scheme already referred to.

It is suggested that three grades of certificate be issued on

completion of the Junior Technical School course:-

Class I Certificate:- Implying that in the opinion of the Principal

the student is certain to bo able to take a responsible post, say

foreman or higher.

Class II Certificate: Implying that in the opinion of the Principal

the student will probably qualify as leading hand or junior draughtsman.

Class III Certificate: To be awarded to pupils who complete the course

successfully without showing special ability.
